  3. Digital Texas Update

As a result of Prop 8’s passage and the subsequent shift to implementation of enacted legislation, Digital Texas intends to pause the significant activity we have undertaken over the last three years. There are no plans to dissolve the coalition at this time; depending on future policy requirements and actions, we may reconvene at a future date if needed.

In the meantime, the executive committee, comprised of Texas Rural Funders, Greater Houston Partnership, United Ways of Texas, and Texas 2036, will continue to exchange updates and plans to have regular check-ins moving forward. You will hear from us if there is pertinent and important information we believe would be helpful to share.

We appreciate your many contributions and insights shared over the years. From helping establish the first statewide broadband office with the passage of HB 5 in 2021, to ensuring voter approval of $1.5 billion in state funding for broadband, your contributions have secured a brighter future for broadband expansion in Texas.

Have a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to future conversations with our many friends and partners.

Sincerely,

Digital Texas
